Choosing a family dentist is one of the most important decisions you will make regarding your and your family’s health.

Everyone has the same concerns about visiting the dentist: comfort, caring staff and convenience. I know that many people don’t look forward to dental treatments, so our entire staff works hard at making your visit as pleasant as possible.

For some people, anxiety reduction medication is the perfect way to visit the dentist. Dr. Sommer will see that you’re totally relaxed through the appointment. Your stress is reduced before, during and after your care. We take the time to explain all aspects of your treatment and answer any questions you may have. We realize we’re not just building smiles, we’re building relationships.

When you are looking for a family dentist we recommend that you consider these four factors.

What training and schooling does the dentist have and how does he keep updated on new technologies and practices?  Dr. Sommer graduated from UCLA Dental School and spent the following year in general practice residency at what is now the West Los Angeles VA Medical Center.  It is important to Dr. Sommer to keep current and to bring best practices to his office and to his patients. His advanced education credentials include cosmetic techniques, invisible braces and implant technology.

How long has the dentist been practicing and in what situations?  Dr. Sommer has celebrated his 25th year practicing in Colorado Springs, at the same downtown location. His family of patients include people who came from his first advertisements 25 years ago and include generations from the same families.

Do the services the doctor offers match your needs? Regular visits are critical from one to 101 years of age. Dr. Sommer conducts extensive dental examinations aided by an intra-oral camera so you can see what the doctor sees.  His services include digital X-rays, periodontal laser treatment, professional whitening, non-mercury filling, crowns, veneers, and implants.  Dr. Sommer is also prepared to refer you to the right specialist if that is most appropriate.

Is the office convent and attractive?  Our Downtown location is central to most families and we often hear that it is really convenient for professionals who work in the downtown area.  We hope you will find our office to be warm and inviting too.

If you would like to see for yourself, if this is the dental home for you, give us a call and set up a visit.
